General rules of sending money
Money can be sent to the individual account book of the prisoners placed in the penal institutions according to the following options:
Domestic postal orders (via “pink cheque”)In the “message” part of the postal order once again the name, identification number or the data of birth of the prisoner, respectively the “object” of the money - for example “prison shopping” - shall be indicated. We always check the received orders which takes one working day. The amount of money is normally credited on the prisoner’s individual account book within 10 working days from the dispatch.
Money transfer order (via “yellow cheque”)
In the “message” part of the money transfer order initiated at the post offices, the name, identification number of the prisoner, the object of the money and the address of the institution shall be indicated! We always check the orders which takes one working day. The amount of money is normally credited on the prisoner’s individual account book within 4 working days from the dispatch.
Bank transfer
If you choose this method, please always contact the relevant penal institution of the prisoner either verbally or in writing in order to be informed of the deposit account of the penal institution. The website bv.gov.hu may assist to that as it contains the contact details of all the penal institutions of the prison service organization.
Upon initiating the transfer the following data shall be indicated:

| The account number of the person entitled: | The account number of the penal institution of the prisoner! |
| The “message” part: | The prisoner’s name, identification number, the object of the money! |
In the course of money order if the “object” of the money is not specified then it will be recorded as uncommitted (free to use). Money with commitment can only be sent for prison shopping and for the prisoner's mobile phone deposit.
However it is a general rule that only registered, authorized contact persons may send money to prisoners. If the money originates from someone who is not the authorized contact person of the prisoner then the money shall be returned to the sender.
